3 USPS workers, including suspect, dead after shooting at Memphis facility

Two U.S. Postal Service staff are lifeless after a capturing at a Memphis postal facility, authorities mentioned, Trend stories citing ABC News.

The suspected shooter, who was additionally a USPS worker, died of an obvious self-inflicted gunshot wound, FBI Memphis spokesperson Lisa-Anne Culp mentioned throughout a press briefing Tuesday.

The capturing occurred Tuesday afternoon on the East Lamar Carrier Annex, a location that doesn’t have retail clients. Around 2:50 p.m. native time, the Memphis Police Department mentioned it had secured the scene and there was no lively menace.

A witness advised Memphis ABC affiliate WATN she noticed individuals working away saying pictures had been fired.

USPS is working with the FBI, Memphis Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives on the investigation, Postal Inspector Susan Link advised reporters.

The USPS and FBI spokespeople didn’t share any further data on the capturing, together with the identifies of the victims or suspect.

“The Postal Service is saddened at the events that took place today in Memphis,” the USPS mentioned in a press release. “Our thoughts are with the family members, friends and coworkers of the individuals involved. The Postal Service will be providing resources to all employees at the East Lamar Carrier Annex in the coming days and weeks.”

This is the second high-profile office capturing within the Memphis space in latest weeks. Last month, one individual was killed and 14 others had been injured in a capturing at a Kroger grocery retailer in Collierville. The suspected gunman, a third-party vendor for Kroger, died of an obvious self-inflicted gunshot wound, police mentioned.
