9 injured in refinery fire in north Algeria



Nine folks had been injured in a fireplace that broke out on Tuesday in an oil refinery in northern Algeria, the official APS information company reported, Trend experiences citing Xinhua.

A fireplace broke out on Tuesday morning on the Skikda refinery of the state-owned Sonatrach Group however was instantly extinguished, Sonatrach stated in a press release, with out mentioning the reason for the hearth.

This “painful incident” left 9 folks injured, who had been performing routine upkeep work, Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines Mohamed Arkab was quoted as saying by the APS.

The hearth didn’t have an effect on the manufacturing of the refinery which continued its operation, Arkab stated.

The minister added that Sonatrach had taken “all preventive measures in order to quickly control and contain the fire.”
