Clancy, Artacho del Solar continue to rule the court


A dominant quarter-final efficiency has introduced seaside volleyball stars Mariafe Artacho del Solar and Taliqua Clancy one step nearer in the direction of Commonwealth gold.

Artacho del Solar and Clancy returned to the Smithfield seaside volleyball courts on Friday to tackle Scotland within the quarter finals.

Despite an preliminary attacking error, the pair have been off to an excellent begin, matching effectively with Lynne Beattie & Melissa Coutts in the course of the early phases of the opening set.

Although some ace serves and powerful assaults allowed Scotland to construct up a lead, a robust spike from Artacho del Solar helped deliver the Aussies again to path by two factors.

Following a time-out, Australia got here roaring again upon their return to the courtroom, with profitable blocks from Clancy and additional assaults by Artacho del Solar serving to them take the lead.

Scotland struggled to reply as Australia started asserting dominance and went on to take the opening set 21-11.
