Instead of proudly owning as much as her pricey dereliction of responsibility, De Lille lied that it was irrelevant. She said the maintenance service certificates were issued by an independent service provider in November 2021.

“The 2019 and 2020 SONA experiences launched by the City of Cape Town final week have been already responded to and remedial actions carried out. Once all servicing is accomplished, the DPWI submits the upkeep certificates to the related authority PROV JOINTS forward of SONA. The PROV JOINTS contains the City of Cape Town, Crime Intelligence, the State Security Agency, Parliament, DPWI, the Presidency and the Department of Defence.

“This is the procedure followed before 2019 (February and June), 2020 and 2021 SONA events.
