- Danny Jordaan will serve one other time period as president of SAFA after being re-elected on Saturday morning on the elective congress.
- He received majority of the votes, forward of fiery Ria Ledwaba and Solly Mohlabeng.

Danny Jordaan has retained his place because the South African Football Association (SAFA) president, profitable votes by a landslide forward of candidates Ria Ledwaba and Solly Mohlabeng.
The 70-year-old will now serve a 3rd time period as SAFA head honcho, first taking on the reins practically 9 years in the past in 2013, succeeding Kirsten Nematandani.
“Dr Danny Jordaan retained his seat as South African Football Association (SAFA) President when he won by overwhelming majority at the Elective Congress on Saturday. Dr Jordaan polled 186 votes, Ria Ledwaba 27 votes and Solly Mohlabeng 8 votes,” the affiliation confirmed on Twitter.

On Saturday, SAFA members flocked to the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg for the elective congress and have been welcomed by a big group of Ledwaba supporters singing outdoors the venue.
Jordaan obtained a mammoth 186 votes to make sure one other four-year time period, whereas Ledwaba, who will now not be on the National government committee (NEC), obtained 27 votes.
Mohlabeng obtained eight votes.
In the lead-up to the elections that has been mired by chaotic controversy after the opposite, Jordaan was anticipated to win as SAFA members weren’t in favour of both Ledwaba or Mohlabeng.
Ledwaba, nevertheless, was not going to go down with no battle.
The former Ria Stars proprietor and SAFA have been embroiled in a feud that dates again to when she filed a criticism to FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) throughout the 26 March Ordinary Congress.
Ledwaba alleged that the modification of the structure was in contravention of the principles and procedures laid down by the mentioned structure and was invalid.
“CAF reminded her that she was present in the SAFA Congress held in Johannesburg on 26 March 2022, where decisions were democratically taken in the presence of a FIFA representative who stayed for the duration of the proceedings,” CAF responded in a press release through SAFA.
At that very same congress, Mohlabeng was dramatically kicked out by Jordaan for eager to verify if all members have been accredited.
Early in April, Ledwaba was pressured to cancel a press convention she was planning to carry with media homes talking on her presidential candidacy.
However, based on City Press, SAFA pulled its weight and ordered the convention to not go forward as she could be introduced ahead for disciplinary motion.
Despite all of the hiccups, it didn’t kill her spirit.
She made a big effort to cease the elective congress, which SAFA rescheduled from August to June.
SAFA are but to substantiate who will function Jordaan’s vice-presidents (4) in addition to the brand new NEC members.
