Scream 5 trailer: Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette return to face Ghostface

There’s no leaving your previous behind, particularly when that previous includes a Ghostface killer. The first trailer for Scream 5 has dropped.

The trailer for Scream 5 has dropped and it’s dripping with portent and doom – and, in fact, blood curdling screams.

It reunites returning favourites Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette with a forged of newcomers to the franchise, together with Jack Quaid, Melissa Berrera, Mason Gooding, Dylan Minette and Jenna Ortega.

If the trailer is something to go by, Ortega isn’t going to make it to the opening credit, becoming a member of the ranks of Drew Barrymore and Sarah Michelle Gellar because the sacrificial lambs to the horror film gods.

The film is ready 25 years after Wes Craven’s unique, and Woodsboro’s youth are as soon as once more being hunted by a killer sporting the Ghostface masks.

The unique trio are referred to as again to Woodsboro and are seen giving a pep speak to the brand new would-be victims. As Dewey (Arquette) lays it out, “There are certain rules to surviving”.

And, similar to within the earlier instalments, the killer is somebody they know.

Scream 5 – technically titled simply Scream, as a result of, effectively, Halloween did it so why can’t they – is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the duo behind the devilishly entertaining Ready or Not. It’s the primary movie within the franchise that isn’t directed by Wes Craven, who died in 2015.

Craven’s 1996 unique was an enormous success and kickstarted the resurgence of the teenager slasher style which additionally included I Know What You Did Last Summer, Halloween H20, Urban Legend and The Faculty.

Three sequels adopted in 1997, 2000 and 2011, and a three-season anthology TV collection.

Scream 5 will probably be in cinemas on January 13
