State Patrol: 6-Year-Old Struck And Killed On Highway Near Onamia

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating after a younger little one was struck and killed on a freeway close to Onamia Thursday night.
According to the patrol, the incident occurred round 10:47 p.m. on Highway 169 close to Twilight Road in Mille Lacs County. A 6-year-old woman was on the freeway, within the path of an oncoming SUV, when she was struck and killed.
The woman, who’s from Onamia, died on the scene.
The driver of the SUV is a 48-year-old Garrison lady. She is cooperating with the investigation and was not impaired, the state patrol stated.
The Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office is aiding the state patrol within the investigation.
Road circumstances had been dry on the time.
