The South African National Defence Force (SANDF)
has denied that US navy personnel are in South Africa to guard authorities
officers, following a submit on Twitter making the allegation.

The SANDF dismissed the submit as “faux
information”, adding that it was a “ludicrous assertion”.

SANDF spokesperson, Brigadier General Andries Mahapa, said:

The SANDF want to state clearly and unambiguously that the US Army Southern European Task Force is in South Africa to conduct a joint and multinational peace help operation and humanitarian reduction train with the SANDF beneath the operational code title ‘Exercise Shared Accord 2022’.

This is the fourth time the train is taking
place in South Africa. The final train came about in 2017, as all joint

Cape on the SA Army Combat Training Centre Lohatlha.

Bay in KwaZulu-Natal.

Mahapa added:
